RACING FOR CHANGE

Racing for ChangeWhat is Racing for Change?
Racing for Change, which has been led by Racing Enterprises Limited (REL), is a fundamental reappraisal of the way the racing is promoted. Its aim is to introduce a greater customer focus into the Sport to make it relevant to the leisure consumer of today.

The project began with nationwide research and consultations across the whole horseracing industry. This was followed by the submission of reports from a series of industry project groups.

Their findings, together with feedback from road show presentations to a cross section of the horseracing community, have formed the next phase in the plan to modernise the sport and widen its appeal. The new initiative brings together all the major stakeholders of the industry, with a common goal to pursue wide-reaching and ambitious change for the future benefit of British horseracing.

Chris McFadden, Racing for Change and Racing Enterprise chairman, says: "We have a series of excellent recommendations from the project groups, some of which will be implemented in the very near future. Others will take longer and may require structural change.

"Recent news regarding reduced levy contributions makes our work all the more urgent. However, we mustn't rush into implementing initiatives that haven't been fully thought through. Hence the important need for this next consultation stage. We hope as many as possible will participate."
