On the sad news of the death of Rory MacDonald, Nick Rust, Chief Executive of the BHA, said:
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Rory MacDonald. He worked tirelessly for 22 years as Chief Executive of The British Racing School (BRS). Throughout his remarkable tenure at the BRS he gave so many young people a start in racing, for which we should all be extremely thankful. He was well-respected by the BRS pupils and amongst the training fraternity and will be sorely missed by the racing industry more widely.
“Upon retirement he continued to show his desire to help and support others by taking up charitable roles in Racing, including as a trustee of Retraining of Racehorses (RoR). It is clear that his desire to help others and make a difference for the good of British Racing never diminished. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.”
