Following the abandonment of racing at Chepstow on Sunday, 27 December, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has confirmed the transfer of the entire card to Saturday, 9 January, with the exception of The Download The Coral Mobile App Maiden Hurdle Race (Class 4) which will be replaced by a Novices’ Hurdle over the same 2m 3½f trip.
The coral.co.uk Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle Race and the Coral Welsh Grand National will both be shown live on Channel 4.
Original entries in the Coral Welsh Grand National, which were published in the Racing Calendar on Thursday, 26 November, will stand. However, horses must be confirmed by noon on Monday, 4 January and declarations to run must be made by 10am on Friday, 8 January.
In order to facilitate the transfer of the Welsh Grand National card, Chepstow’s fixture on 8 January has been cancelled and the Doncaster fixture currently scheduled for 9 January will be transferred to Friday, 8 January. In order to avoid confusion for participants, the races at Doncaster’s fixture will continue to close at noon on Monday, 4 January and the handicap penalty dates contained within race conditions will remain the same as previously advertised.
