British Racing and Sky Betting & Gaming have agreed a three-year deal, starting on 1 April 2016, which means the Leeds-based operator will become the latest company to benefit from ‘Authorised Betting Partner’ (ABP) status.

The deal was concluded over the last few weeks, and although the terms of the arrangement are confidential, it means that Sky Betting & Gaming will be making voluntary payments to racing over the next three years.

Nick Rust, Chief Executive of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), said:

“We are delighted that Sky Betting & Gaming have agreed to become a partner of British Racing by signing as an ABP. It shows that they understand the benefits of a partnership approach between racing and betting and we look forward to working with them to deliver all the benefits of being an ABP.

Richard Flint, Sky Betting & Gaming’s Chief Executive, said:

“We are pleased to have reached this voluntary agreement with racing. It makes sense for both parties and demonstrates our continued support for a sport that we and our customers love. We look forward to developing the partnership over the next few years.”
