David Pipe to Leave the Jockey Club

It is announced that David Pipe will be leaving The Jockey Club as its Director of Public Affairs later in the year.

Commenting on his decision, David Pipe said:

“After ten fascinating years with The Jockey Club, I want to
move on to something else. It has been an extraordinary time,
testing, frequently dramatic and, above all, fun. I have enjoyed
every moment of it and I now want to put some of this
experience to good use elsewhere in racing.”

The Senior Steward, Sir Thomas Pilkington, said today:

“David has given 10 years of outstanding service to
The Jockey Club, transforming attitudes and giving the
public a close insight into The Jockey Club, its policies
and its operations. He has worked unstintingly on our
behalf and we wish him happiness and success in the future.”

From 20th October, David Pipe’s duties will be handled between the Jockey Club Directors, Christopher Foster, Tony Goodhew and Malcolm Wallace. The Public Relations Department will be headed by John Maxse as Public Relations Officer.
