Twelve members of the Czech Association of Thoroughbred Breeders and Racehorse Owners (CATBRO) arrive on Friday (10th September) for a visit to Britain.
The group will be in the country for a five-day tour to experience British racing and take a first-hand look at British bloodstock available for purchase. The visit is a direct result of an Outward Trade Mission to the Czech Republic in June this year by a delegation representing British racing and breeding, supported by the Department of Trade and Industry.
The tour will include the St Leger meeting at Doncaster, Doncaster Sales, followed by three days in Newmarket, where the CATBRO members will visit trainers yards and the gallops, the National Stud, Dalham Hall Stud, Tattersalls, the Animal Health Trust, the British Racing School and the National Horseracing Museum.
The members, headed by Mr Alaxandr Eremias, the President of CATBRO, will also have the opportunity to meet industry professionals and a farewell dinner will be held for them at The Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket on Monday 13th September.
The tour has been organised by the British Horseracing Board’s (BHB) international marketing executive, Jackie Hutchinson, and is backed by the organisations contributing to the joint international marketing initiative, namely: BHB, Doncaster Bloodstock Sales, the Federation of Bloodstock Agents (GB) Ltd, Tattersalls, the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) and Weatherbys.
