An inspection will be held at Uttoxeter at 7.30am tomorrow, Wednesday 18 October, to determine whether the Steeple Chase course will be fit to race for their fixture on Friday 20 October.
A seven-race card is currently scheduled, but if the Steeple Chase course is deemed to be unraceable upon inspection tomorrow morning, the three scheduled Steeple Chases will be abandoned and two of the remaining three Hurdle races and one National Hunt Flat race with the most declarations will be permitted to divide to create a six-race card.
While Uttoxeter has experienced better weather today than expected, the Chase course is currently Heavy, unraceable in places. The Hurdle track is Soft, Heavy in places and improving.
The inspection will establish the viability of conditions improving on the Steeple Chase course, with heavy rain forecast in the coming days.
