Brian ?_x0019_Farrell has been appointed as BH?_x0019_s Licensing Manager Ireland. He will head the new BHB Licence Office in Dublin, which will deal with the administration of and compliance with BHB data licences for all bookmakers in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, as well as being responsible for the collection of monies.
Brian leaves his post as Administrator of the Irish Independent Betting Offices Association (IIBOA), having for many years played a key role on behalf of the Irish betting industry in discussions on a range of issues with the Irish Government.
Brian O’Farrell said today:
“My appointment will have the support of the IIBOA, whose members, now that the licensing situation is settled, will quite rightly expect assurance of fairness and consistency in the administration of licences and the collection of payments due.”
Ian Roy, BHB Head of Licensing, said:
“We are delighted to be able to appoint someone of Brian’s experience. His in-depth knowledge of the Irish betting industry will be of considerable benefit, particularly during this period of introduction of BHB licences, and will help to ensure continuing good relations with bookmakers in Ireland. Revenue from bets placed in Ireland on British races accrues directly to BHB and so it is essential that we have the necessary infrastructure in place.”
