With current conditions at Lingfield continuing to be a challenge and with more rain forecast for the region, the British Horseracing Authority’s (BHA) Racing Department has programmed a provisional card of ‘Jumpers’ Bumpers’ to take place in the event that the Turf Jump fixture is abandoned.
Partially funded by the Horserace Betting Levy Board, the seven race card will be made up of the existing Mares’ Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat race, a new Standard Open National Hunt Flat race and five ‘Jumper’s Bumper’ events primarily aimed at Steeple Chasers and Hurdlers. With a division, a maximum of eight races are possible.
Ordinarily, under the Rules of Racing, horses which have run in Steeple Chases or Hurdle Races are not eligible to run in National Hunt Flat races, so BHA has modified the Rules with regard to this fixture.
The races close at noon on Saturday 22 February, with declarations to run to be made, in line with the existing National Hunt Flat race, by 10.00am on Tuesday 25 February. Full race conditions are available on the Racing Admin website under Fixtures and Races and a decision on whether this provisional card will be activated will be made by 1pm on Monday 24 February.
The provisional, revised running order for Lingfield on 26 February follows below:
2:10 33281 The Go Bananas For Fairtrade ‘Jumpers’ Bumper’ National Hunt Flat Race (Class 4)
