Following recent heavy snow and rain, the Steeple Chase course at Taunton is unraceable and with standing water and further rain forecast, the decision has been taken to abandon the two Steeple Chases programmed to take place at the course on Thursday, February 7th.
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has programmed an additional Standard Open National Hunt Flat race to take the place of the Steeple Chases and form a six race card.
Taunton’s going on the Hurdles course is currently described as heavy; waterlogged in places.
The National Hunt Flat race will close at noon on Saturday, February 2nd, with declarations to run to be made by 10am on Wednesday, February 6th.
