Following the abandonment of Newcastle’s fixture on Saturday 2 December, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) can confirm the rescheduling of the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle to Sandown Park on Saturday 9 December.
The race will be run for £80,000 and all existing entries will be cancelled, with the race re-opened for new entries, closing at 12 noon on Monday 4 December.
In addition, the Mares’ Listed Steeple Chase that had been scheduled to take place at Carlisle on Sunday 3 December has been rescheduled to Aintree on Saturday 9 December.
The race will be run for £27,500 with entries closing at 12 noon on Monday 4 December.
The BHA is grateful to the Levy Board, Sandown Park and Aintree for their contributions to prize money and support in agreeing to host these races.
