“The OFT informed us in advance that it would be publicising the fact that its inquiry was continuing. Nothing in its letter to the RCA is out of line with what we already knew. We are holding regular dialogue with case officials in which we are clarifying the rationale for and benefits of the Orders and Rules of Racing.

“It would not be in the interests of Racing or its customers to have a governance structure which conferred an advantage on any particular sector. BHB believes that the current structure takes into account the interests of all customer groups but, if there are ways in which further improvements can be made, we would welcome them, not be afraid of them.”
