“The British Horseracing Board has formally released the list of eight applications for fixtures for new racecourses which were submitted by the published deadline of 31st August.
At their meeting this week, BHB Directors confirmed that the eight applications will now be reviewed in detail by the Board and the Executive against the agreed guidelines published in September 1998. A decision is expected by 1st March 2000.
Details of two of the proposals, for new racecourses in South Yorkshire and the North of England, remain confidential at the request of the promoters. The remaining six applications (in alphabetical order) are as follows:
East Thames Park Racecourse
