Commenting on the outcome of today’s Levy Board meeting, BHB Chairman, Peter Savill, said:
“”I am disappointed that the Levy Board today postponed a final decision on funding arrangements for the 2000 Fixture List.
“”As a result the BHB Board will now reconvene early next week in order to discuss the matter further.
“”I am surprised that both the betting industry and the Tote did not support the proposal since they have consistently told us that Sunday is a better day for turnover than Saturday evenings and the Levy Board confirmed that the BHB proposals ‘should produce a net positive position in terms of levy income'””.
