“The British Horseracing Board’s Ownership Marketing Group (OMG) today announced that the speakers at the forthcoming Owners’ Seminar will include Ron Huggins, owner of the hugely successful DOUBLE TRIGGER, and Nigel Payne a co-owner of 1998 Martell Grand National winner EARTH SUMMIT.
The eighth Seminar organised by the OMG takes place in Newmarket on September 28th and 29th, and aims to provide prospective racehorse owners with all the information they need prior to getting further involved.
During the two days delegates will be able to hear from a wide range of people connected with the sport about all aspects of ownership. Topics include ‘How to Run a Partnership’ and ‘Choosing your Trainer’. The Seminar includes visits to trainers’ yards, the National Stud, Tattersalls and Newmarket Races.
The cost for a place on the Seminar is £225 (plus VAT) which includes all materials, meals, transport and racecourse admission plus a complimentary copy of ‘The Spirit of Racing’.
However, as with all previous Seminars, if any delegate becomes a registered owner within a year of the Seminar, their fee is completely refunded. All delegates who become registered owners within a year will also receive a year’s free membership to the Thoroughbred Breeders Association and the Racehorse Owners Association.
As always the Seminars remain popular, however, there are a limited number of places available and anyone requiring further details should call 01753 897211 (8.00am – 8.00 pm seven days a week).
James and Lorraine Brown, delegates at last year’s Newmarket Seminar, are now owners. Mr James Brown commented:
“”My wife and I were new to the country and to the sport – the seminar provided the information we needed to make an informed decision on racehorse ownership.””
