Many thanks for all your support, understanding and cooperation in helping to ensure that owners have been able to return to the racecourse safely.
As explained previously, this is the first step of a staged plan to welcome back owners in risk-managed way, in line with government guidance on the return of elite sport behind closed doors.
The guidelines and processes will continue to be reviewed regularly and revised where appropriate, to improve provision for owners and deliver a more integrated raceday experience.
We will continue to keep you updated with any changes and ensure that these are incorporated into the wider guidance for owners, which can be read here.
Updated online learning module
Following feedback from owners, the online COVID-19 learning module has been updated so that it focuses specifically on information to help keep you and others safe on the racecourse.
The online learning is accessed via this online form on the ROA website.
All owners (and guests) are asked to complete this learning module prior to your first visit to the racecourse. It only needs to be completed once, and you do not need to provide proof of completion when you arrive at the racecourse.
Please note that owners who have already taken the Racing2Learn education module do not need to complete this online COVID-19 learning module.
For more information, please see the guidance for owners, or visit the Returning to the racecourse section of the ROA website, which includes a step by step guide to support owners.
For specific queries, please contact the ROA on 01183 385680 or [email protected]
Travelling to the racecourse
Where possible, owners not living in the same household are asked to travel to the racecourse separately. This is to help minmise the risk of infection and help protect the health and wellbeing of other owners.
For those owners sharing a vehicle, please note that if one person does not pass the health screening on arrival at the racecourse, no one in the vehicle will be permitted access to the racecourse.
In addition, we’d request that owners and trainers do not travel to the racecourse in the same vehicle, as they will be entering different areas of the racecourse on arrival and, again, by travelling separately, you reduce the risk of spreading the virus to other owners / raceday workers.
