Racing Cancelled On Tuesday 9th April As Mark of Respect

Published: 1 April 2002

Racing in Britain has been cancelled on Tuesday 9th April, as a mark of respect for the Queen Mother, who died on Saturday, aged 101.

The meetings at Exeter, Pontefract and Southwell were abandoned after an announcement from Buckingham Palace confirming the date of the funeral at Westminster Abbey, as April 9th.
