- The Cotswold Chase (Grade 2) will be run as part of Sandown’s card on Saturday 6 February
- The Cleeve Hurdle (Grade 2) added to the same day’s meeting at Wetherby
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today confirmed that the Cotswold Chase, a Grade 2 race over 3m1½f, will be run as part of Sandown’s meeting this Saturday 6 February, while the same day’s Wetherby card will feature the Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle.
These moves follow the abandonment of Cheltenham’s meeting, which was scheduled to take place this previous Saturday.
Entries for the rescheduled Cotswold Chase and Cleeve Hurdle will close at noon tomorrow, Tuesday 2 February, before declarations are taken at the 48-hour stage along with the rest of the Sandown and Wetherby cards.
In agreeing the above rescheduling, the BHA took time to consider all options and is grateful to all of those affected for their patience. This conclusion follows discussions with relevant racecourses, and also took into account other factors, such as the uncertain weather outlook.
