The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today confirmed it will announce the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer in the new year.

The move is to ensure that, as planned, the newly appointed BHA Chair Lord Allen of Kensington plays a role in the recruitment process.

Upon the completion of Julie Harrington’s term on 31 December 2024, the BHA’s current Chief Regulatory Officer Brant Dunshea will take on the role of acting CEO while the recruitment process is finalised.

Brant Dunshea joined the BHA in March 2015. He was promoted to the role of Director of Integrity and Regulatory Operations in September 2016 and then Chief Regulatory Officer in April 2018.

Prior to joining the BHA, Brant held various senior roles within racing-related industries in Australia for 20 years. He is an experienced horseman who is well known and highly respected across both British racing and international jurisdictions.
