UTTOXETER ALL-HURDLE CARD PROGRAMMED FOR THURSDAY, 29TH NOVEMBER – TWO STEEPLE CHASES ABANDONED

26 Nov 2012 Pre-2014 Releases

Following an inspection and after consultation with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) Inspectorate, Uttoxeter Racecourse has been forced to abandon the two Steeple Chases scheduled for Thursday 29th November, due to the Chase course being waterlogged in places.

In response, the BHA has created an all-Hurdle card, consisting of the four Hurdle races and National Hunt Flat race already scheduled plus one additional Hurdle race opportunity.

Charlie Moore, Clerk Of the Course at Uttoxeter, said: “Following partial waterlogging in the home straight, predominantly on the Chase course (which remains waterlogged in places), in conjunction with the BHA Course Inspectorate it has been agreed that the Chase races will be abandoned and replaced with a 2m 4f Hurdle race. The racing line will be on the outside of the Hurdle course adjacent to the Chase fences.”

The new race will close at noon on Tuesday, 27th November, with declarations to be made, in line with the existing races, by 10:00am on Wednesday, 28th November. A revised running order is outlined below.
