Horse Population Reports
The aim of these document is to give stakeholders and the wider Public an insight into the current state of the Horse Population in Great Britain. It is hoped that this transparency will ensure that all decision makers have access to the key data required to help British Racing deliver a Competitive and Compelling product to stakeholders, racegoers and the wider public.
These reports use the Horses in Training returns from the Weatherby’s Racing Administration System, this is completed by trainers and should be updated whenever a horse enters or leaves training in their care as part of the conditions of their licence.

The Commercial Committee has determined that the following data should be published as part of an industry-wide commitment to improving the punctuality of British Racing.
The tables below, which will be updated on a rolling quarterly basis, show race off-time data by racecourse, as well as British racing’s overall performance regarding race off-times and the primary reasons for delay.
There are a number of reasons a given race may not go off to time (defined as being in excess of two minutes of the scheduled off time), and in many cases such instances are multifactorial and can be out of anybody’s control. Reasons provided in the table will seek to provide as much detail as possible but context must also be considered when assessing the overall picture relating to off-times.
