Research project: Help us find out more about concussion
A new study open to Jump jockeys will trial the use of virtual reality technology in managing concussion, with the aim of enhancing care and protection for riders.
The research will explore whether Neuroflex virtual reality headsets could be used alongside existing assessment and rehabilitation techniques to improve the way British racing tests head-eye co-ordination and supports recovery following concussion.
Concussion is the third most common injury for jockeys. It can occur after impact to the head or body following a fall, and can cause dizziness, balance problems and difficulty with head-eye coordination.
Jump and Point-to-Point jockeys interested in taking part can find out more by going to the research homepage or emailing [email protected].
